Key points

①Pull parking brake
②Put gear selector into Park (“neutral” position for cars with manual transmissions)
③Start the engine

Caution

Points are deducted for starting the engine without using the brake at all, so be careful. You have to make sure the parking brake is engaged and to step on the brake pedal when starting the engine.

In some test cars, the engine will not start if you do not step on the brake pedal.

You must keep your feet on the brake pedal until pulling out the car.
